This is my great grandfathers obituary below. It says he was
a member of the Knight of Pythias.
What does this mean and is it still in existence?

Dr. James Jehu Robert, 80, died at his home at 631 North Boulevard
today after a long illness. Funeral services
will be conducted at the home by Dr. Dana W. Dawson, assisted
by Dr. John W. Melton at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Internment will be
in the family plot in Norwood. Robert, who was a cousin of Henry
W. Robert, author of the standard work on parliamentary procedure
"Robert's Rules of Order," had practiced medicine for over 50
years.
He was born in Centreville, Miss., on Oct. 13, 1885, and was
the son of the late Dr. Joseph Clarke Robert and Frances Rebecca
Harris. At 17, he held degrees in civil, electrical and mechanical
engineering and entered the University of Virginia medical school,
finishing in 1907. Following his internship at the St. Joseph's
Infirmary in
Fort Worth, Tex., he began to practice medicine the same year
in Norwood. Two years later, he moved to Baton Rouge, which
had 12 doctors at the time. Dr. Robert was physician for the
Missouri Pacific railroad here for some
43 years, the Southern Pacific for 43 years and the L. and A.
for 41 years. In World War I, he served as commanding officer
of many medical units. Dr Robert was a member of Nicholson Post
38 and served the post as
an officer. At the time of his death, he was in point of years
of service, the oldest member of the East Baton
Rouge Parish Medical Society. He was a member of the First Methodist
Church of Baton Rouge, the American Medical Association, the
Louisiana State Medical Society, the American Academy of General
Practice and the American Association of Railway Surgeons. He
was also a life member of Capitol Lodge No 29, Knights of Pythias,
a member of St. James Lodge No. 47, F and A.M. a Scottish Rite
Mason and a Shriner. Dr. Robert is survived by
his widow, the former Mary Octavia Gayden; two daughters, Mrs.
Frank Forrest Morrill, Newburyport, Mass., and Mrs. Charles
Edward Beadles, Baton Rouge; one son, Dr. Agrippa Gayden Robert,
Baton Rouge; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
