Q & A - 3/29/2013
Q: Found this in a middle of a field in Will county Illinois, was just wondering if someone could tell me why it's here just have been fascinated with the reason why? Thanks hope to hear back

A: I love it when people find items like this. I don't know anything about it but perhaps people at the Supreme Lodge would.

It may help to find out if there was a local KOP Lodge near the location you found the stone (Local City). Was the field a cemetery or family grave yard at one time?
Clues that could help.

I will be sending your e-mail to the Supreme Lodge. Hopefully they may have some answers. In the meantime if someone out there has some information please contact me @ (714) 504-4088 - SKYPE MediaWebLink / e-mail
Q & A - 3/29/2013
Q: As a member of Ancestry.com, I received found a record for my great-great-grandfather, Dennis McMullen, listed under “Death Notices of Members of Fraternal Orders.” He was listed as a member with the Knights of Pythias in KP Lodge No. 46, Scranton, Kansas. I believe his wife, Jessie McMullen, may have been in a similar “woman’s” organization. My great-great-grandfather died in Scranton in 1892, so I would assume Dennis and Jessie were members around that time period. These are my questions: (1) Did the member have to fill out personal information to become a member and did the Order keep those documents? (2) If those records exist, can I pay to have a copy made and mailed to me?

Besides any further info on Dennis, I am looking for info on his wife. I have no idea what my great-great-grandmother’s maiden name was. The census records show when she was born (1840) and where (Prince Edward Island, Canada), but I have no last name by which to order a birth certificate. Her first name could possibly have been Jennett or Jeanette, or Margaret Jeanette. Jessie and Dennis were Scottish.

I thank you in advance for any assistance you can give me in this matter.

Q & A

Curvin Allewelt
Q:.I have a picture of my great, great Grandfather in a uniform. My father is saying
he was in the Knights of Pythias but we are not sure. I was wondering if you had a
list of people in your members. He was from the Hanover/York area of Pennsylvania.
The date would be the late 1800-early 1900s and his name is Curvin Allewelt. Any
information on where I can find further or if you can at least advise if he was in that
organization. Thank you. Elizabeth astronut214 @ yahoo.com

A:
If he was in a uniform he could have been in the U.R.K.P. (Uniform Rank)
kophistory.com/urkp/index.htm   In 1901 there was a Lodge in Hanover, Hanover #318
and in York, Crystal #248. Both are no longer there. Try checking with their Historical Society.

I spoke with the Supreme Lodge and they recommend that I forward your e-mail to
the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. Hopefully they may have some answers.

Q & A
Q: Hi Pete, I am sorry for not getting in touch with you for a couple of weeks. I do appreciate your help. I just recently found a 10 KT Gold Emblem that says Knights of Pythias - Veteran - 25 Years - Lifetime Gaurantee...
I was stunned. I had seen it maybe once or twice in the safety deposit box, but never made any connection
until now. I am even more puzzled because Barney B Goldberg only lived 37 years and he was in NJ when he
was 12. Please let me know if you find any info on Jacob M Goldberg or Jack Goldberg - That is the only person
it could belong to. If so, I had no idea that he was a member. He would have been in NY Thanks Jeff
